Just got a notice in my email about this film called “Before the Music Dies.”
Now for sale through B-side.
It’s about the state of the music industry today. How tone-def hot chicks get record deals and true musicians get pushed to the side. I’m all for the occasional throwing off the helm of corporate oppression. But one has to ask – in a world full of corporate control and documentaries to back it up – in our food, news sources, and government, is a documentary about the corruption of pop music really discovering new ground?
Should I spend the limited amount of free time I have available to watch it? Will I discover something new? Enjoy it more? or discover new storytelling?
